In this walking free tour, we will cover the most visited tourist attractions of Stone Town.
Note that the Stone Town tour is one of the tours which can not make you tired since we will walk under the three-storie buildings all over the town.
First, you will visit the old local market which was built in early 1900 by the Sultan of Zanzibar.
Within this market, you will observe how it was planned with all cooking products available within it and how busy it is never forget populated with different kinds of people.
Then we will pass through different kinds of Zanzibar doors made by local peoples. This kind of door came into circulation in the early 1800. There are a different kind and each kind has something special within it which identify the nature of the doors. The curving of the doors explains the history of different things.
Followed by the former slave market: Zanzibar was the center of the slave trade for east African countries.
So this site is the heart of the slave trade, inside it, there is an Anglican cathedral church that acts as a symbol of the slave trade.
Together we will navigate through the old beautiful buildings with narrow paved streets with the only path for walking and bikes.
Also, we will visit the old fort or Arab fort but also other people call it the Portuguese fort, it was built in late 1600 by the Portuguese and finished by Arabs in 1700.
