I am a licensed tour guide, professional blogger, and active member of the Guides Association of New York City. My passion is New York’s food, history, and culture, and my walking tours are one of a kind NYC experiences! I also created, own, and operate a tour agency called Food Strolls Guided Tours right here in New York City.
Join Alex on a walking tour through the streets of old New Amsterdam and Colonial New York. Learn about the City’s earliest days, from Native American wilderness, to Dutch farmland, and eventually to America’s largest city.
We'll explore new York City's oldest streets, uncovering NYC secrets along the way.
Eventually we'll arrive at many of New York's most recognizable attractions. You'll learn the history behind The Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, the New York Stock Exchange, Trinity Church, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, St Paul's Chapel, City Hall, and the Woolworth Building.
Along the way you'll have plenty of time to ask questions and engage with Alex on any number of topics.
The tours are casual, flexible, and fun, so bring your curiosity and a comfortable pair of walking shoes!
I will be on the stairs of 1 Bowling Green beneath the banner for the National Museum of the American Indian. I will be holding a clear folder full of black and white images.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
