Hello everyone there. This is Dhiraj Goswami a young professional photographer in Varanasi. I have 8 years experience of in street photography. Currently, I live in Varanasi the holiest town in the world.
This tour is for the beginner to advanced photographer aiming to take captivating images and learn photography skills and techniques to expand your expertise from Varanasi local, a seasoned professional photographer.
Varanasi is famous for its culture, rich history, narrow streets, temples and sadhus (holy men). Your experience begins at sunrise where you will witness rituals and traditions at the Dashashwamedh ghat. Walk south along towards the Assi ghat and north to the Panchanganga ghat.
Next peruse along narrow alleys and streets and explore the market. Here you will make use of natural lights and shadows while exploring local life in Varanasi. Here there are endless opportunities to capture beautiful photos and moments.
ITINERARY
5:30 AM
Meet up and join an early morning Ganga ceremony learning about Indian culture all while capturing compelling images of locals and receiving a blessing from a Holy Priest.
6:30 AM
Walk along the riverbank to visit the magnificent Manikarnika and PanchGanga Ghats.
9:30 AM
Venture down the streets of Varanasi for brilliant street photography visiting heritage sites, majestic temples and then enjoy a delicious vegetarian breakfast.
10:30 AM
Tour completion.
I will teach you photography techniques of lighting, composition, framing and how to best utilize your camera. You will learn how to properly utilize Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO thus furthering your capabilities to help you grow your photography skills.
You will get a first hand perspective on the human side of my hometown. I am sure you will come to love and appreciate this wonderful city with all that it has to offer.
*IMPORTANT NOTE*
As with any developing country take care to look after your personal items. Keep valuables at the hotel and or carry them in a safe and secure part of your person.
I will be at dashashwamedh ghat. Just below Rama Temple.
We will stop at this location for capturing some moment of rituals life and know about rituals.
From Dashashwamedh ghat to Panchaganga Ghat we walk along and capture some photographs and same time you will able to learn about frame and logical story about Varanasi.
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
