We start near to the old bridge in quarter side one of the oldest quarter in Berat . Gorica Bridge It is one of the oldest and most popular Ottoman bridges in Albania. It connects two parts of Berat. Gorica quarter is the part of Berat that lies on the left bank of the river Osum. The area decorated with cobbled paved streets, stone houses and small orthodox churches. From that side of the reiver you have magnificent views looking back over the Berat.
Mangalem, which historically is Islamic and was known as the Ottoman Quarter. Mangalem Quarter consists of narrow streets of old white stone houses with terracotta tiles, wooden doors and hanging flowers.. Most of the houses have multiple large symmetrical windows, all lined up along the side of rocky hill.
This is a really nice long broad boulevard is lined by cafes and restaurants on one side and the Lulishtja park on the other. In the evenings it becomes absolutely full of people and has a wonderful atmosphere to it. There is a stunning backdrop of The Tomorr Mountain in one direction and the citadel in the other
The Halveti Tekke within Medieval Centre of Berat, is yet another impressive monument in this complex, and one of the most interesting architectural structures of the city. The tekke was built in the 15th century and restored by Ahmet Kurt Pasha towards the end of the 17th century. The structure, belonging to the sect of the same name
This castle is the pride and joy of the city of Berat. It’s courtyard offers spectacular views of the city and the valley below. Berat Castle is certainly one of the most beautiful in Albania, if not the most beautiful of them all! The castle sustains the lives of its inhabitants, a life that is perhaps as isolated as it is privileged from this position atop the city.
