My name is Raúl, I have a degree in Art History, with a master's degree in "Art, Museums and Historical Heritage Management". I have been an official tourist guide for over 6 years. I have worked as a guide in different cities such as Granada, Seville, Florence, Malaga, Merida, Cáceres, Trujillo and, for 3 years, in Palencia, León and Astorga. The fact of being able to work as a guide in these cities offers me the possibility of knowing them a little better day after day, since in this work, the training must be continued to offer a service with the highest possible quality. Committed to tourist quality, since I am one of the few guides in León who can boast having the "Tourist Quality Commitment" Seal. Come and discover Leon and Astorga with me, surely you have a great time.
With our guruwalk you will discover all the secrets of the historic center of León through a fairly complete visit to its most famous neighborhoods. We will start in the Plaza Regla where the Cathedral is located, which stands out for its excellent set of medieval stained glass windows. Then we will enter the Romantic District, which in addition to being a tapas place, we will find interesting places such as the Romantic Garden, Calle del Cid or the Basilica of San Isidoro (we will enter whenever possible). After knowing the Roman walls we will approach to the interior of the largest Renaissance palace in the city, the Palacio de los Guzmanes. We can also discover Gaudí's work: Casa Botines, one of the few works that Gaudí left outside Catalonia and whose facade reminds us of a castle. After passing through the Wide Street, the main street of the historic center, we will discover the Palacio del Conde Luna, next to the Conde Luna market. In this neighborhood is one of the oldest churches in the city: the church of San Salvador de Palat de Rey. Finally, we will explore the most famous area in León: the Wet District! Places such as the Plaza Mayor or San Martín will surprise us both with their history and with the gastronomy of Leon.
The meeting point is the Plaza de Regla, next to the Tourist Office. The guide will wear a BLUE JACKET with the words GUIDED VISIT on the back and the GANDA TOURISM logo
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
