Hi everyone!!! My name is Josué and I am an Official Tour Guide from the old mining town of Linares (Jaén). I have a full tourism formation and experience achieved during the last 11 years, working as an entertainer and a tour guide. I truly love to share with people experiences as well as to show around different places, spots and landmarks that belong to my beautiful region where all my roots are. I am Josué and I welcome you to this charming city in the La Loma region, located in the heart of the province of Jaén .
On this fantastic tour you will have the opportunity to discover how Baeza , declared a World Heritage City by UNESCO in 2003, became one of the greatest references of the Spanish Renaissance of the 20th century. XVI thanks to the patronage exercised by some of the most important noble families who settled in this city and who contributed to beautifying every corner with lavish buildings such as the Jabalquinto Palace , public infrastructures with clear Castilian reminiscences such as the Plaza del Pópulo or the Paseo de the Constitution that show us the great economic boom that the city reached at this time with the intervention of such important architects as the architect Andrés de Vandelvira , in charge of the Renaissance restoration of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Nativity, located in the heart of the historic helmet.
This tour will consist of the following stops:
- Torre de los Aliatares.
- Paseo de la Constitución (Fountain of the Constitution, Alhóndiga, Lower Town Halls and Fuente del Triunfo).
- Old University of Baeza (University and Arco del Barbudo).
- Plaza de la Santa Cruz (Church of the Sta. Cross and Jabalquinto Palace).
- Plaza de Sta. María (Cathedral, Upper Town Hall Houses, Fountain of Sta. María and Seminary of San Felipe Neri).
- Alleys of the Cathedral (Puerta del Perdón).
- Plaza del Pópulo (Fountain of the Lions, Old Butcher Shops, Civil Court and Notaries, Arco de Villalar and Puerta de Jaén).
