Introducing Liverpool - The Global City!
Tour description
Greetings from Liverpool! My name is Neil, and for the last twelve years it has been my great pleasure to work here in Liverpool as a local guide.
Liverpool is my favourite place to be - so full of fun and surprises, always leaving visitors wanting more!
I have spent my whole life living and working in the City, and enjoy nothing more than passing on my knowledge to visitors from all over the world.
Starting at the historic Pier Head, on the River Mersey, we see all parts of the former UNESCO World Heritage site.
These places celebrate and bear witness to the development of one of the world's major trading centres in the 18th, 19th and twentieth Centuries.
But Liverpool is so much more than its history. Its incredible people, diverse culture and amazing architecture are great reasons to visit right now.
Our locals (known as 'Scousers' here in the UK) possess a warmth and wit unique to this place. I aim to pack in enough in our time together to help you orientate yourself and understand what makes Liverpool tick!
The principal places we visit are:
- Liverpool Pier Head and the Three Graces (World Heritage site)
- The Beatles Statue (have your picture taken with the 'fab' four!)
- Liverpool Town Hall and Castle Street (a World Heritage site)
- Mathew Street and the Cavern Quarter
- The worlds oldest man made docks and the origins of the Liver Pool
- The River Mersey, see the ferries and finish our walk back by the river.
Along the way I point out the many incredible buildings, museums, pubs, eateries and visitor attractions here in the centre of Liverpool, how to get the best out of your stay on a budget. This walking tour is a great opportunity to get to familiarise yourself with the City, plan the best ways to get around and the best highlights to see with the time you have available.
Come and enjoy!
