We're Sanjin and Marko, two guys who decided to share their love for their hometown with it's visitors. As licenced local tour guides and avid travelers, we've used our experience to organize a tour where we'll show you the most interesting places in the city while telling you the stories that shaped it into what it is today. Let's discover Rijeka together!
IMPORTANT: YOU CAN COME TO THE TOUR EVEN IF IT SAYS THAT IT'S COMPLETE!
The tour lasts up to 2h30min.
We'll meet up at Jadranski trg (Adriatic square) at the designated time (check the dates!) and, during our walk, you'll see some very interesting and unique places within the city centre, as well as hear stories about how Rijeka used to be the largest port in Austro-Hungarian Empire, and how the city has developed through centuries.
This tour includes:
- We'll end our walking tour at a wharf in the port, where many luxurious yachts are anchored nowadays.
- This tour is provided in English only.
All free tours around the world keep running just because of the guests rewarding the guides with tips; if you don't know what amount is appropriate, google to get an idea.
This tour is not "rain or shine"; it may be cancelled in case of bad weather.
Meeting point: Between two fountains at Jadranski trg (Adriatic Square). I will stay between them, so that you could find me easily. The square is conveniently located in the city center, so it's easy to reach the meeting point by city buses, by foot or by taxi. Intercity bus station "Žabica" is only 150 m (500 ft) away. Traffic in Rijeka's centre has been bad recently due to many roadworks, so it's recommended to start your drive towards the centre at least 15 minutes earlier than you've planned. Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
