The historic center of Santa Marta, declared a national monument in 1959 and a Site of National Cultural Interest in 1997, was restored in a first phase by the national and local government in 2010 and comprises 8 sectors. Our adventure begins in the Bolivar Park sector.
Walking along the Malecon Sector in the Bay, you will enjoy spectacular views of the Marina and port sectors.
This doubly holy city, known as “the faithful and hospitable” and “the tourist pearl of America”, has “the magic of having it all” : its colonial buildings, the sea and its countless beaches, rivers and the majestic Sierra Nevada, are proof of this.
In the cathedral square area, you will notice the contrast in the architectural styles of its buildings.
