Hi! I'm Lydia I have been a tour guide for 5 years in Kampala Uganda, based in the Buganda kingdom. I'm so passionate about tour guiding and love meeting new people from different corners of the world. My enthusiasm for tourism has always made the tourists I walk with have fun, as well as enjoy more interesting stories, especially about our culture in Buganda kingdom. I'm so entertaining and trust me the tourists who walk with me never get bored. You won't regret choosing to walk with me.
Hi everyone! My name is Lydia. I would like to introduce my tour.
I take you through the local food preparation of Green bananas commonly known as (matooke) and the dish commonly known as (Luwombo) in my kiganda culture.
Secondly, I would love to share with my guests the process of making bark cloth from the back of an African fig tree as we walk through the king's palace on Mmengo hill.
It's an interesting experience of harvesting and making barkcloth as you get to look at beautiful paintings done on the tree skin.
The kabaka's palace has several attractions which you shouldn't miss to see if you tour with me. From the canon of Idd Amin in the compound to the torture chambers of Idd Amin down on the palace grounds.
We shall get a chance of walking through the royal mile which takes you to the parliament of Buganda kingdom.
The parliament of Buganda is also another spot that you shouldn't miss to visit as you learn the political history and cultures of the Buganda kingdom.
You will be able to experience the traditional dances of the Buganda Kingdom
The tour begins at the Buganda parliament, then we walk into the royal mile and end in the kabaka's palace where we shall be experiencing the local food preparation, dances, and barkcloth making.
I will be waiting for your bookings!
I will be at Buganda parliament in a green t-shirt for luwombo tours
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
