Lima Downtown: Monuments, History & Politics

Duration: 2h
Languages: Spanish
Quality Verified Registered on June 19, 2023

Hello, my name is Joan Manuel, I am originally from Callao, the main port of Peru. I have a degree in Tourism Administration from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Dean of America. I am very passionate about history, both in Peru and around the world. One of my greatest pleasures is football, both playing it and watching it on television. About 5 years ago I started working as a guide and the truth is that it was the first time that I really enjoyed a job to the fullest. I am grateful to have the luck of being able to work in what I like and enjoy.

Tour description

Did you that Lima is known as "Lima, the horrible"? But, guess what? We will make you fall in love with this horrible city.

We will treat you like our old friend who came back after a super long time ago travel abroad and we want to show everything!

In approximately 120 minutes, while we visit the most important Monuments, Balconies and streets of Lima Downtown, you will be transported chronologically (as possible) to each period of the past of the Capital of Peru thanks to a storyline structure we've prepared for you in a fun and interactive way to tell you about the evolution of our peruvian society with a critical-philosophical perspective of controversial history and it's intimate relationship with politics.

- San Martin Square
- La Merced Church
- Palace of Goverment
- Catedral of Lima
- Monument to Taulichusco
- House of Gastronomy of Peru
- House of Literature
- San Francisco's Church
- Wall Park

*** Ps: No shopping / No comissions.

We will meet at "Plaza San Martin", outside the "Grand Hotel Bolivar", Historical Centre of Lima. UBER: We recommend to all of you who are hosted in Miraflores or Barranco, to take a taxi 40min-50min in advance, because sometimes traffic is awful. Public Transportation: Try the Metropolitano "letter C", and give 3.5 soles (peruvian currency) to a local to make you pass with card. You should take this bus one hour in advance and drop off at Colmena Station, then just walk two blocks. I will be there waiting 5 minutes before.
