Hi 👋 I'm Juan, Cali local, born and raised here. Tourism is: something I love to do, something I am good at, and something I can make a job out of. That's why I have found a vocation in it. My tours keep growing, expanding, innovating, always a project-under-construction. They're never finished as I keep improving them with the experience every traveller brings. I speak superb english, native spanish, fluent portuguese, and some french. Thanks for considering me to show you my hometown. Welcome to Cali!

Salsa capital of the world. Sports capital of latinamerica. The 2nd largest black population per capita in latin america. MY hometown of Cali is known for many things. And for many travellers, for it's cool wall art and murals all around the city.
In a culture where having a policital opinion is a life-threatening activity, people have found in walls an opportunity to display and materialize cries for justice, pain and beauty.
We will go around one of the nicest areas in Cali and read culture and society through it's most colorful walls.
Local landmarks will also intertwine between our murals.
As a bonus, we will finish in La Linterna, a printing shop that preserves (and uses) the oldest commercially available printing presses of the city, imported centuries ago from France and the UK.
A fun tour through Cali's colorful streets.
Let's meet outside the Subway Sandwich Store in Bulevar del Río.
"Cali is Cali, the rest are hills" is a very traditional phrase for people in Cali. We will check out a mural about it.
As a mid-tour stop to rest our eyes from all the colour, we will check out the foundational church of Cali, with it's white walls, an perfect canvas for wall artists... completely untouched.
A small walkable street packed with murals. The biggest one is a cry for justice for the black population of the region.
We will start with some of the biggest murals of Cali ranging topics from defending nature, riots, nature, LGBTQ+ and feminisim.
Outside the biggest public art school in Cali and colombian southwest, we get to see a total of 4 murals honoring and remembering Jaime Garzón, Francia Marquez, the 2021 National Riots and homeless people.
As the finish stop of our tour we will visit La Linterna, containing the 2 oldest (at least commercially available) printing presses of the city. One coming from france, the other one from the UK. Stickers and posters for sale!
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
