The tour begins at Plaza Feddan , from where we enter the narrow streets where the Andalusian houses of the ancient Tetouan nobility are located. We will continue our journey exploring the maze of streets and discovering hidden corners full of charm. Here we get an authentic insight into the everyday life of the locals.
The best example is Jarazin, the art district. It takes 15 minutes to explore the landscape and photograph the views from Tetouan. We then enter a tannery from the end of the 15th century. Everyone wants to showcase the great craftsmanship in creating works of art from pieces and leather and explore the craft markets. Can you resist picking up some souvenirs?
We continue the free walking tour through the streets of Tetuán and reach the famous Calle del Oro in Tarrafín. We will pass through the other gate, Bab Ruah, and explore the ancient Jewish quarter of Mellah, immersing ourselves in its rich history and culture.
At the end of the visit we pass through the Spanish Ensanche , where we find the Spanish Library, the Cervantes Institute, the Mercado de Abastos or the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Victoria. We will also visit many other historic buildings where we can learn fascinating curiosities from the time.
