I am a morocco travel expert , and an english speaking official female tour guide in morocco. I passed the exam to become a guide at the ministry of tourism. This is a tour that I recommend for first time visitors to Marrakech.
We will discover the historical side of Morocco's capital of tourism, the Marrakech Medina and within its walls and its 9 main gates we will go back in time to the middle ages.
The meeting point is the famous square jamaa el fna and then we will walk through the narrow alleys to the mallah district: the Jewish quarters. This is where the Bahia's palace, the best historical museum in which you can discover the Moroccan Islamic traditional architecture.
I will show the basic facilities that are indispensable in each neighborhood in the Medina: the hammam, the bakery, the medressa:"the Koranic school", the fund which was the hotel previously. All these facilities will be found in the narrow alleys of the souk more than 3000 handcrafted product stores.
