Tour description



This tour is focused on The Cultural Heritage of Berat, a city of 2400 years of age, hence it has a very rich history. In our tour, filled with smiles, energy and entertainment, we will uncover the rich tapestry of this city's iconic landmarks, the UNESCO-listed Berat Quarters, and the mesmerizing Byzantine churches overflowing with history and culture.

Our meeting point will be at the center of the city, in front of the orthodox Cathedral of St. Demetrius.

From there we will head towards the old part of the city which is a complex of three quarters: the Castle, Mangalemi (the one-thousand windows) and Gorica. Then we will pass through a cobbled path to get to the Castle, which is the most beautiful and antique part of the tour.

KEEP IN MIND TO BRING A HAT AND WATER AND ALSO WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES FOR THE VISIT TO THE CASTLE.

Later on, we are going to walk to the complex of the Pasha and the Medieval Center of the city.

During our tour we will visit:

  • The bridge between Mangalemi and Gorica
  • The Castle
  • Saint Mary of Vlaherna church
  • Holy Trinity church

After approximately two and a half hours we will end the tour at the city point of view.
