Hi I am Jorge! I am a journalist with 20 years of experience in radio and television, curious and attentive to the symbols of a key place from a geopolitical point of view from its foundation to this day. I love my city and I love to share what I know about it with each new visitor. Some song will accompany our tour and also information about Montevidean mysteries.
A walk through the city of libraries and bookstores, learning about the old cultural and educational tradition of the capital of Uruguay. From the founding of the first library during the struggles for independence, to the majestic library of the Legislative Palace. The walk includes a stop at one of the most beautiful bookstores on the street of books (Tristan Narvaja) and access to three beautiful public libraries. We share the history of education, art and local culture. Montevideo, the city that was once called "the Athens of the Río de la Plata." We will appreciate architectural beauties and as an extra we offer a brief review of one of the largest street fairs in South America that takes place on Sundays on the street we walk along.
I will be on the steps of the central building of the National Library wearing a red hat or cap.
