I have lived in Hamburg since 2001 and have been working as a freelance food stylist and cookbook author since 2005. I like being outdoors, which is also the reason why I offer the district tour. I would like to offer a "holistic" tour that highlights topics that make you think. Not only (but also) tell of Hamburg's sunny side.
There will be plenty of stories about Hamburg's Neustadt, current city politics, the situation of women in Hamburg's history, etc. And of course, as a foodie, I can't resist serving up a classic Hamburg pastry.
Tips on where to eat your ice cream, buy aspirin in style, whether the weekly market is worth a visit or where the greenest corners of the new town are hidden.
a small final quiz, who likes
Since it rains on average 15.8 days per month in Hamburg, there is a good chance of getting wet. Please check your trusted weather app beforehand and equip yourself accordingly.
If someone is traveling with a wheelchair or has other mobility restrictions, cannot stand for long periods of time, etc., please let us know in advance so that we can plan for it or plan an extra tour.
Also a short information about allergies or intolerances. Everyone should have a good time
I'm looking forward to showing you "my" neighborhood.
Pia
We meet on the square in front of the Laeiszhalle. I usually have a jute bag with me and a hat. You'll recognize me :-)
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end of the tour the amount that he or she considers appropriate (these usually range from €10 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
