SALAMANCA TOUR FROM THE HEIGHTS
Do you want to get to know Salamanca in a different way?
Discover the most important buildings and monuments of the city from a different perspective, ascending to the highest tower!
In addition to touring the interior of the cathedrals in a more special and intimate way, we will walk through the most emblematic monuments of the historic center.
We will meet at the indicated time at the boar statue located next to the Roman bridge.
After knowing the origins of the city we will go up the Tentenecio slope . Did you know that this street has its own legend?
At the end of the street we will arrive at the Cathedrals of Salamanca and we will have the opportunity to view them in a different way, from above! We will enter the exhibition
Ieronimus , where we will see the cathedrals through their balconies and interior peepholes and the city from the highest visitable space, the bell tower.
Going through its labyrinthine route, we will walk through the dungeon or the clock room, where we will learn about the impact that the Lisbon earthquake had on the city and we will be able to see a reproduction.
You will love it!
After visiting the cathedrals we will continue our tour to the most emblematic monument of Salamanca , the University , which is the oldest in Spain , where in addition to looking for the famous frog we will explain this impressive Plateresque façade.
We will continue the visit in the courtyard of Escuelas Menores where we can admire the Salamanca Sky, one of the most important mural paintings in the town.
Then we will cross Libreros Street to the Casa de las Conchas and enter its original patio where we will tell you the most famous legends about this palace.
In front of the Casa de las Conchas we will contemplate the magnificent façade of the Clerecía and we will explain the history of the building, currently the headquarters of the Pontifical University.
Before reaching the main square we will pass by the Church of San Martín , which competed in beauty with the old cathedral itself.
We will end the tour in the main square after visiting one of the most beautiful spaces in the city.
