Discover the history and traditions of La Alberca on this guided tour of one of the most beautiful towns in Spain.
Come and discover its labyrinthine streets and let yourself be seduced by its wonderful architecture.
We will meet in the Plaza Mayor, next to the Tourist Office at the indicated time to begin the guided tour. We will start by learning about the history of the region and the town.
Do you know why it is called Sierra de Francia?
We will also explain the most important buildings in the Plaza, undoubtedly the nerve center of La Alberca , and we will discover that one of them is related to the Casa de Alba.
Next we will walk through its narrow streets and get to know what life is like in this charming town.
We will also describe its typical architecture, which led it to be the first rural town to be declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1940 . And we will discover what the inscriptions and shields on the door lintels mean.
Through its cobbled streets we will reach the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption , which houses one of the jewels of the town. Do you want to know which one it is?
Next to the church we will see an ossuary and we will explain the tradition of the Moza de las Ánimas and the legend around her figure. Nearby is a very peculiar statue
